Hello! I do UX design.

That could mean a lot of things. So let me break it down for you.

I like the messy beginning –

when you aren’t sure what the problem is, or what people value. This is where my skills really shine.

Alignment
I’ll summarize messy conversations into a one-pager that everyone can reference going forward.

Android, Summer ‘24

Context
Watch me discover every nook and cranny of an experience to map out on a journey.

Salesforce, Summer ‘22

Empathy
I’ll masterfully facilitate interviews, workshops, or surveys to make sure we get to the heart of ‘why’.

Samsung, Fall ‘24

Strategy
Myself and a little AI can dive deep into a market and come out with targeted opportunities.

Lenovo, Spring ‘24

Now, we’re solving.

I like putting all of that hard, foundational work to use. When we can connect all of the dots into one concept, magic happens.

Creativity
Me and my ipad are fearless. I strongly support getting out all of the mild to wild thoughts to solve a problem.

Google, Spring ‘25

Direction
Let’s grab a diverse set of concepts and put them to the test. I’ll get qual and quant data to tell the full story.

USAA, Spring ‘23

And just like that, we did it.

A story needs told no matter if it’s circulating amongst stakeholders or moving into production.

Storytelling
You want the confidence that we got it right. This is my forte. I’ll pick a storytelling technique and run with it.

Android, Summer ‘24

Documentation
Every design should have a system behind it. I make sure that can be understood and repeated moving forward.

Lenovo, Fall ‘25

Those are just a few of my favorite things.

Most of my project work is confidential but I am happy to share in depth examples of recent work over a virtual or in-person chat. I’m lucky to have recently worked with these collaborative and innovative teams.

Now that you’re here, you can call me Jess.

When I’m not crouched over my laptop, I really fill up my free time. I doodle and crochet for friends and a subtle side hustle on Etsy. I check in weekly with our sourdough mother, Winona Ryser. My husband and I play and coach volleyball. My family includes snuggly dogs, inspiring foster kiddos, and a supportive husband.
